1👋Welcome

Holiday Routes builds a complete day-by-day itinerary for you: where to drive or fly, what to see, where to eat, where to sleep and, for electric cars, where to charge. You can then change anything, keep your bookings in one place, take the route to your navigation app and share it with family and friends.

There are four ways to travel, and the app adapts to each one:

• 🚗 Car / road trip – you drive from home. Great for electric cars: the plan includes charging stops.
• ✈️🚗 Flight + car – you fly to your destination and rent a car there.
• ✈️ Flight only – you fly and get around by train, public transport and on foot.
• 🚐 Caravan / camper – you tow a caravan or drive a motorhome; the plan includes campsites and pitches.

2🔑Getting started

1. Open app.holidayroutes.eu in your browser (computer, tablet or phone).
2. To create an account, click Create Account. While Holiday Routes is in private beta you need an invitation voucher code. Enter it with your email (for example user@example.com) and a password of at least 8 characters, then accept the beta terms.
3. Next time, just enter your email and password and click Sign In to Holiday Routes.
4. Forgot your password? Click Forgot password? and follow the link we email you.

Your profile

Open Menu → Profile to add your name, country and preferred units (kilometres or miles). If you drive an electric car, pick it from the list: the app then knows its real range and plans charging stops that suit it. You can also change your password here.

3🧭Finding your way around

• Trip selector (top left) – switch between your trips. The ✏️ pencil renames the trip.
• New Trip, Share, Delete – the main actions for the selected trip. Live Sync shows your changes are saved automatically.
• Bookings Vault – all your tickets and confirmations (see chapter 8).
• KM / MI and the flag – units and language.
• Summary – number of days, total distance, your car's range, travellers and food preferences.
• Search and filters – find a place, jump to a day, or show only sights, chargers, restaurants, hotels or campsites.
• Day cards – everything planned for each day, with buttons to change it.

4✨Creating a new trip

Click + New Trip. One form covers all four ways to travel; the fields change depending on the travel mode you choose.

1. Give the trip a title, for example "Summer by the lakes".
2. Choose how you will travel: Car, Flight + Car, Flight Only or Caravan / Camper.
3. Pick the dates. The number of days is calculated for you (or type the number of days yourself).
4. Type your starting city and your main destination. Suggestions appear as you type; click the right one.
5. Set the trip purpose, the travellers (for example "2 adults, 1 child aged 5"), your car and any food preferences.
6. Click ✨ Generate with AI for a complete plan, or Create Blank Trip to fill in the days yourself.

5🚗Road trips by car

Choose Car / Road Trip, then search for your car by brand or model (for example "Ioniq 5" or "Model Y"). For a petrol or diesel car, click Custom and type its name.

• Each day shows the distance and driving time. Click it to see that day on the map.
• For electric cars, charging stops show the charger power and suggested battery levels, such as "arrive 20%, leave 80%".
• Legs are kept to a comfortable length for your car and your group, with breaks for children when needed.
• Menu → Pacing & Days shows driving days versus rest days, and lets you insert or remove days.

6✈️Flight + car trips

1. Choose Flight + Car.
2. Fill in the departure airport and arrival airport (for example "Seville (SVQ)") and the outbound and return dates.
3. Optional: click ✨ Search Flights with AI for suggested direct flights and times.
4. Add your starting city and destination, then generate the trip.

Flight cards show the airline, flight number, times and an indicative price. Optimize Flights looks for better options, and Menu → Flights lets you search and compare flights for any day. Always book with the airline or your agent; prices shown are estimates.

7🚆Flight-only trips

Choose Flight Only for city breaks and trips where you get around by train, metro, bus or on foot. The plan groups sights close together, suggests family-friendly places and restaurants, and places the hotel near public transport.

8🚐Caravan and camper trips

1. Choose Caravan / Camper.
2. Select your vehicle type and the kind of pitch you prefer.
3. Tick what you need at the campsite: electric hook-up, fresh water, chemical toilet disposal, pets allowed.
4. Generate the trip.

• Distances are marked Towing and use caravan speeds, so times are realistic.
• The 🚐 Caravan Hitched button switches a day to Basecamp (Unhitched) when you stay put and explore by car.
• The Campsites & Pitches section of each day lists places to stay with the facilities you asked for.

9✏️Changing your plan

Every day card has the same buttons:

• ✏️ (pencil) – change the day title, route, day type, distance and time.
• ➕ Add Stop – add a sight, charger, hotel, restaurant or note.
• +📅 – insert a new day after this one. 🗑️ – remove the day.
• ⚡ Recalculate Route – update the distance and time after you change stops.
• On each place: Google Maps opens it, Map shows it on the trip map, ✨ AI fills in details, ⭐ marks a highlight, ✏️ edits and 🗑️ deletes.

Travel ideas assistant

1. Click ✨ AI Ideas on a day (or Menu → AI Travel Ideas).
2. Choose the day and a focus: playgrounds, castles, restaurants, fast chargers, nature walks, or type your own question.
3. Click ✨ Ask AI.
4. Click ➕ Add to Day on any suggestion you like. It is added to your itinerary straight away.

10🗺️Map, navigation and weather

• Click 📍 Map on a day, or Menu → Route Map, to open the map. Use the list at the top to show the whole trip or one day.
• 📈 Elevation Profile shows climbs and descents; useful in the mountains.
• Coloured pins: blue for sights, green for chargers, purple for stays, orange for food.

The 🧭 GPS button on a day opens the route with all its stops in Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps with one click. Download GPX saves a file you can load into many car navigation systems and apps such as Garmin or Komoot.

Menu → Live Weather shows the forecast for the places on your route.

11🛂Borders, tolls and safety kit

Open Menu → Border & Vignettes before you leave. It has four tabs:

• Vignettes & Tolls – what each country charges, where to buy it online, and a box to tick once bought.
• Mandatory Gear – vests, warning triangles, first-aid kit and more, with the fines if missing. Tick each item as you pack.
• Clean Air & ZTLs – city stickers and permits (Crit'Air, Umweltplakette, ZTL…).
• Emergency & SOS – emergency and breakdown numbers, with a one-tap call button on phones.

12💼Bookings vault

1. Click Bookings Vault at the top, or + Voucher on a day.
2. Click Add Confirmation, choose the type (flight, hotel, ticket, charging subscription, vignette) and the day.
3. Add the booking code and attach the PDF or photo of your confirmation.

Attachments are private: only you (and people you share the trip with) can open them.

13🌍Reading a trip in your language

Menus and buttons always follow your language. New trips are written in your language too. If a trip was written in another language, a bar offers 🌐 Translate with AI. The translation is saved, so everyone who opens the trip in that language sees it, and View original switches back at any time.

14🔗Sharing your trip

1. Click 🔗 Share.
2. The first time, the app prepares a photo for each day of the trip (about a minute). Click ⚡ Fast-Track to use ready-made photos instead.
3. Copy the short link, or send it straight to WhatsApp, Telegram, X or email.

15🖨️Printable travel booklet

Open Menu → Generate your journey booklet and click 🖨️ Print / Save PDF. In the print window choose "Save as PDF" to keep a copy on your phone, or print it for the glovebox. Hotels, booking codes and emergency numbers are all in one document, handy where there is no signal.

16💶Savings card for social media

In Menu → Share (under Share & Media) adjust your car's consumption and local prices to see how much you save and the CO₂ you avoid. Download the image or copy a caption with hashtags for Instagram.

17⭐Plans and installing the app

• Explorer (free) – one trip and 10 assistant requests.
• Annual Traveler (€49 per year, VAT included) – unlimited trips and assistant requests, PDF booklet, and the installable app with offline access.
• Open Menu → Plans & Pricing and click 💳 Upgrade now. Payment is by card on a secure page. Have a voucher? Use 🎟️ Redeem Code.
• To manage or cancel your subscription, open your profile and click 💳 Manage subscription.

Install the app on your phone (Annual Traveler)

1. Open Menu → Install App and follow the instructions for your phone.
2. On iPhone: tap the Share button in Safari, then Add to Home Screen.
3. On Android: tap Install when Chrome offers it.
4. Open each trip once while you have internet; it is then available offline.
